Pipeline Corrosion Control System
Pipeline Corrosion Control involves protecting pipelines from degradation caused by environmental factors. Detecting corrosion early is crucial for preventing pipeline failures, leaks, and costly repairs, especially in industries like oil, gas, and water transport.
Radiodetection’s PCMx: Faster, Easier Corrosion Control with Accurate, Real-Time Data
The increasing number of pipelines, aging infrastructures, and stricter guidelines are placing greater demands on corrosion specialists to complete surveys and analyze results faster. The PCMx Corrosion Control Solution from Radiodetection is engineered to address these challenges with advanced technology, delivering faster, more precise measurements and improved portability, all while enhancing field productivity.
PCMx is a versatile Pipeline Current Mapper and precision locator. With the magnetometer foot attached, it conducts ACCA, ACVG, and depth of cover surveys. Removing the foot transforms it into a precision locator, offering RD8100PDLG functionality.
The PCM performs four broad functions:
- Locating pipes and cables
- Current attenuation surveys
- Finding shorts on distribution
Faster Surveys:
One-second mapping measurements and simultaneous ACCA and ACVG data gathering reduce time in the field.
Enhanced Signal Output:
The Tx-25PCM and Tx-150PCM transmitters ensure flexibility and extended signal range, perfect for a variety of pipeline conditions.
Real-Time Data Analysis:
The mobile app allows for on-site charting, providing instant feedback and faster decisions.
Plus
Integrated GPS:
Each measurement is automatically captured with precise positional data, streamlining analysis.
Peak+ Technology:
Guides you to your target pipeline quicker and ensures accurate alignment with a compass display.
Dual Measurements:
Simultaneous depth and current readings boost confidence in accurate pipeline tracking.
Ergonomic Design:
Lightweight receiver (2.2kg) with a balanced design and rechargeable Li-Ion battery for extended fieldwork.
Real-Time Data Analysis:
The mobile app allows for on-site charting, providing instant feedback and faster decisions.
The PCM allows the user to conduct two types of Indirect Inspection surveys:
ACCA (Alternating Current, Current Assessment)
- A 4Hz signal is applied to the pipeline and regular measurements are taken to identify areas of current loss.
ACVG (Alternating Current, Voltage Gradient)
- Measure the leakage current in the vicinity of the pipeline to pinpoint coating defects.
